To launch Disney Parks “Year of A Million Dreams” celebration, spectacular new images were unveiled today featuring the work of acclaimed photographer Annie Leibovitz, and starring Scarlett Johansson as Cinderella, Beyoncé taking a spin in a giant teacup and David Beckham slaying a dragon.

In addition to the three debut images, Disney Parks has commissioned more images by Leibovitz that will feature other celebrities in classic, Disney fairy tale settings. The campaign premieres as a special insert in the March issues of Vanity Fair, GQ, Vogue, W, The New Yorker, Condé Nast Traveler and Cookie.

As part of the “Where Dreams Come True” initiative, Disney parks has introduced “The Year of A Million Dreams” (October 1, 2006 – December 31, 2007). During this 15-month, first-of-its-kind celebration, more than one million very special dreams are being granted to guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. The celebration also is highlighted by the debut of innovative Disney attractions and entertainment spectaculars at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.

งานนี้ Disney จึงได้จ้าง ช่างภาพเทพ Annie Leibovitz มาเนรมิตความฝันให้เป็นจริง โดยการจับดารานักแสดง มาสวมบทเป็นตัวละคร จากเทพนิยายดังทั้งหลาย

สามภาพแรกที่ปล่อยออกมาก่อนคือ ภาพ Cinderella ซึ่งได้ Scarlett Johansson มาใส่ชุดสวย สวมมงกุฎทองคำขาว ประดับเพชร 62 กะรัตมูลค่า 325,000 เหรียญ (ประมาณ 10,860,000 บาท) รองเท้าแก้วหลุด (รองเท้าแก้วเป็นผลงานของ Steuben) ระหว่างวิ่งลงบันไดตอนเที่ยงคืน

ภาพที่สองเป็นภาพจากเรื่อง Alice in Wonderland ซึ่งได้ Beyoncé Knowles มารับบทเป็น Alice และภาพสุดท้ายมาจากเรื่อง Sleeping Beauty ได้ David Beckham มารับบทเป็นเจ้าชาย Phillip ขี่ม้าไปสู้กับมังกรไฟ

นอกจากสามภาพนี้แล้ว Annie Leibovitz ยังมีแผนถ่ายภาพของ Peter Pan, Tinker Bell และ Ariel (The Little Mermaid) อีกด้วย

โฆษณาชุดนี้ จะลงตีพิมพ์ในนิตยสารหลายฉบับ อาทิ Vanity Fair, Vogue, W (USA Today)

I have found these three photos very innovative and spectacular! I wish I there will be more celebrities portraying other Disney Classics characters, especially my favourite, Ariel The Little Mermaid!!! Extraordinary!!!!!!!

and also, i must say beyonce shouldn’t have been given the part of alice- i would rather have seen her as jasmine from aladdin! i would have rather had avril lavigne or christina aguilera, for example, as alice…just my opinion, to be more true to the cartoons! althouh, christina aguilera would make a wonderful ariel!

as for scarlett johanssen as cinderella and david beckham as prince philip….two thumbs up!!!!! perfect choice!!
