中島美嘉 (Mika Nakashima) portrays the role of 大崎ナナ (Nana Ozaki). She is the lead singer in a rock/punk band “Black Stones” (“Blast”). She has no family and doesn’t know who her father is. Her mother who left her when she was only 4 years old. Nana had no choice but to grow up independently and learn how to live on her own. Until she has found her love.
小松奈々(Nana Koumatsu) portrayed by 宮﨑あおい (Aoi Miyazaki). A lively young woman who lives with her family in a moderate town not very far from Tokyo. Her boyfriend 章司役 (Takashi Asano) has moved to study art in Tokyo. she believes that one day she will live happily ever after with him.
But life doesn’t always turn out the way we want it to be.
Nana 『-ナナ-』 the movie is based on comic series by 矢沢あい (Ai Yazawa). It’s a story about two women… how they came to Tokyo and how they met each other. Coincidentally, both of them have the same name.
I’ve never read the manga version, so i didn’t know the story beforehand. As I can see, the story-telling is pretty much like what we usually see in the manga. There is one nice instrumental theme song which keeps arising here and there most of the time, just like what it would be in the Japanese anime.
All the songs featured in the film are pretty nice and quite catchy. The live concert scene is amazing. It’s a good movie and I guess that it does livesup every expectation of Nana’s fans out there. I really like the last scene when Nana is about to open the door, it’s absolutely breathtaking!
