New Amsterdam เป็นดรามาซีรีย์ใหม่ของอเมริกา เรื่มฉายทาง FOX ตั้งแต่เดือนมีนาคมที่ผ่านมา เป็นเรื่องเกี่ยวกับตำรวจนักสืบ John Amsterdam (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) ที่มีอายุ 400 ปี อันเนื่องมาจากสมัยอดีต เคยเข้าไปช่วยสาวพื้นเมืองอเมริกัน แล้วโดนแทง สาวคนนั้นเลยร่ายมนตร์ทำให้เขาเป็นอมตะ ไม่มีวันตายจนกว่าจะได้พบ The One (ไม่ใช่ Neo นะ)

พล็อตเรื่องดูเน่า เนื้อเรื่องข้างในก็ดูพอใช้ ความจริงแล้วมันออกจะน่าเบื่อด้วยซ้ำ ทิศทางของเรื่องก็ไม่ชัดเจน ว่ามันจะเป็นดราม่า หรือเป็นแนวสืบสวนกันแน่ นั่งดูอยู่บางทีมันแฟลชแบ็คกลับไปเมื่อร้อยปีก่อน ตัดกลับไปกลับมา ทั้งที่ไม่ค่อยมีส่วนสำคัญสักเท่าไหร่

เสียเวลาดูไปตั้งสามตอน คาดว่ามันจะสนุกขึ้น แต่ก็ไม่… เรื่องนี้กำหนดไว้ให้ซีซันแรกมี 15 ตอน แต่ดูเหมือนว่าล่าสุดจะตัด 7 ตอนหลังทิ้งลงกระป๋องไป สรุปว่าจะมีฉายแค่ 8 ตอนเท่านั้น ซึ่งดูก็สมควรแล้ว (น่าจะตัดเหลือสามตอนก็พอ) ใครไม่ได้ดูก็ไม่ต้องเสียใจไป เอาเวลาไปทำอย่างอื่น หรือ ดูหนังเรื่องอื่นน่าจะบันเทิงกว่า

I saw a TV ad but not interested. The storyline seems unpromising.

อะไรกัน คิดเองไม่เป็นหรือไง พอคนว่าไม่ดีก็ไม่เอาเลย ใครจะไปรู้ เราดูเราว่าหนังดี๊ดี ลางเนื้อชอบลางยา ทำไมคนชอบติไม่นึกบ้างว่าคนอื่นเขาอาจจะชอบ ต้องติจนเขาไม่ได้ผุดไม่ได้เกิดเลยหรือไง

ถ้ามันดีจริง ต้นสังกัดคงไม่ตัดจาก 15 ตอนเหลือ 8 แล้วก็ cancel ตั้งแต่ season แรกหรอกนะครับ แล้วก็คงไม่มีใครสามารถไปบังคับให้ใครชอบ หรือไม่ชอบอะไรได้หรอกครับ

Dear FOX,

I am a Physician who works in the oncology field, am raising two teenage kids, and have a multitude of other obligations. I do not watch TV. Ever. This is the only show I record and watch. Please consider the complexities of the story lines and history involved in each plot. These are the things that the intelligent population enjoy but rarely see. TV shows in general suck, which is why I would rather spend 30 minutes exercising than sitting watching some contrived lawyer/md show that does little to take me away from the harsh realities of the day I just struggled thur. This show does that. I thank West 10530 for starting this thread and I hope it will make a difference.

dear chanida,
it’s just a matter of preference. i simply cannot force anyone to like or dislike anything. we all have different minds. this “kris” person states clearly that he/she “does not watch tv show” and he/she believes that this show is better than others… hmm… interesting.

television show is not a non-profit organization, they believe in rating. i’d say dropping significantly.
