Tangy sweet lemon curd filled in French butter croissant (also available in charcoal variant) is a special stuffed croissant created by Amatissimo Caffè a few months back. The crusty shell on the outside, soft and airy on the inside filled with lemon curd which I consider to be on par with a lemon tart from Peppina (Sukhumvit 33). Normally, stuffed croissants I had in Thailand don’t have this kind of crusty shell. It was so good, I was impressed. And I am not easily impressed with anything.
I took this one from Letar Coffee, when they were at Racquet Club, Sukhumvit 49, before they moved to Central Embassy. However, you won’t be able to get one now because Amatissimo Caffè don’t make it anymore. Let’s hope they will make it again, may be next year? Ugh. Why can’t I have everything I want.
P.S. Plain butter croissant from Amatissimo Caffè is also good, but nothing can top lemon meringue charcoal croissant.
