Flickan som lekte med elden
2009 | Daniel Alfredson
Flickan som lekte med elden (literally means The girl who played with fire) is a film adapted from the famous crime novel of the same name by the late Swedish author/journalist Stieg Larsson. It is the second book in his Millennium Trilogy.
The story follows Män som hatar kvinnor, focusing on Lisbeth Salander who just returns to Sweden after spending some time abroad. Upon her return she pays a visit to her guardian. Later she finds herself becoming a prime suspect in a serial of murder investigation including a journalist, his girlfriend, and her guardian.
The script is once again amazing. The performance of lead actress, Noomi Rapace is extraordinary and so powerful. I highly doubt if anyone could possibly match her in the American remake of this film which will be directed by David Fincher.
This is the second installment of the trilogy which will be followed by “Luftslottet som sprängdes”. Flickan som lekte med elden is now showing at House RCA.
