마더 (Madeo / Mother) is a Korean drama/crime film. The film focuses on a single mother and her mentally incapacitated son. One night a girl is brutally murdered and her son becomes a prime suspect because he is the last person who met the girl in the alley on the night that she was killed.

The mother believes wholeheartedly that her son is innocent and incapable of doing such murder. But her son is unable to defend himself with the police because of his mental sickness, he soon is forced to sign the confession document admitting that he killed that girl. The mother has to seek out the evidence and find the real killer who tries to frame her son.

Another great film from the director of 괴물 (Gwoemul / The Host) with highly engaging script, wonderful cinematography. Hands down to an exceptional performance of the mother portrayed by 김혜자 (Hye-ja Kim).
