A small-time drug dealer named Sterling (Angus Cloud) finds himself in a precarious situation when he agrees to sell 30 Percocet and 20 Adderall to a teenager for $1,500. The teenager, however, claims to have only $700 on him, proposing a deal: he’ll take the drugs, sell them, and pay Sterling back the remaining amount with an additional $100 as a bonus. Sterling, unsure of the teenager’s intentions, hesitates and demands the drugs back. However, he is unaware that the teenager is stalling for time, allowing his accomplice to ambush Sterling. In a swift move, the accomplice knocks Sterling unconscious for a few seconds, and they speed away in a car. Left reeling from the encounter and the loss of his merchandise, Sterling makes his way to a nearby convenience store.

A police officer steps into the Sip ‘n Go convenience store, seeking permission from the owner Amir (Mousa Hussein Kraish), to use the restroom. A struggling pianist named Abraham (Elliot Knight) stands beside his pregnant girlfriend Ana Marlene (Jessica Garza), their eyes fixated on the ice cream freezer. As they contemplate their choice, Sterling enters the store, his presence coinciding with the arrival of a middle aged man who just parked his jeep in front of the store. After making a small purchase, the man inquires about the store’s lottery ticket scanning machine and proceeds to scan his tickets, eager to discover his fortune.

The man’s yells of joy reverberate through the store as he realizes his ticket holds the winning $156 million jackpot, instantly transforming the atmosphere. With a whirlwind of torn magazine pages, Sterling frantically conceals his face behind a makeshift mask. Pivoting abruptly, he brandishes a menacing firearm, issuing a chilling ultimatum to the startled winner: surrender the winning lottery ticket or face dire consequences.

The situation spirals into chaos as the sound of the altercation reaches the ears of an officer in the restroom, prompting swift intervention. The officer Cody (Sterling Beaumon) discharges his weapon, but a tragic misfire sends the bullet astray, striking the man down instantly. Sterling retaliates, firing back at the police officer in a desperate attempt to protect himself. The store erupts into a deafening symphony of gunshots, leaving the officer slumped to the ground, presumably dead.

Instead of fleeing with the winning ticket, Sterling forces Amir to drag the bodies of the man and the police officer to the restroom in the back and close down the store for the night. Sterling then compels Amir to take him to the room where the CCTV stores its video recordings. Amir is fully aware that Sterling cannot simply walk in with a winning ticket to cash out the prize, especially when the prize money is this substantial. If the authorities were to find the bodies, they would ask questions and the money would be forfeited. Sterling needs a plausible story and a witness to support him, as the store is also entitled to 5% of the prize money. Initially hesitant, but eventually, Amir, Abraham, and Ana Marlene agree to help Sterling create a believable story. In exchange, they are each promised a cut from the $156 million winning prize.

The cast delivers believable performances that bring their respective characters to life, with Angus Cloud delivering a standout performance. The film’s premise is captivating, weaving a compelling story with multiple twists that keep the viewer engaged and raise the stakes throughout.
