The film depicts Reverend Cotton Marcus who preaches regularly at local church. He is living with his wife and disabled son. He sometimes performs exorcism without believing in such thing. As he thinks of it as a service which people want him to do and if his performance can relieve their pain, he is willing to do so.

He agrees to take part in a documentary designed to expose exorcism as a fraud after he read the news about an autistic child being killed during an exorcism. Randomly, he selects a letter seeking for exorcism which leads them to a farm where the owner believes his daughter is being possessed by a demon. But everything does not go well with Reverend’s plan. Many suspicious activities arise and he finds himself falling into problems too deep than he have imagined.

The casting is highly believable, the script is clever. Amazing performance with creepy effects and twisted plot. Personally I very much prefer The Last Exorcism over The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity.
