G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is an american live action film adaptation of the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero Toy Franchise. The story begins with a weapon manufacturer called “M.A.R.S.” (Military Armament Research Syndicate) has successfully created a new weapon using nano-technology capable of destroying everything made of metal. The weapon designer and the founder of M.A.R.S., James McCullen (David Murray) has sold four war-heads containing advance nano-technology to NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization)

A team from U.S. army is tasked to deliver these war-heads, leaded by Duke (Channing Tatum) & Ripcord (Marlon Wayans). But during the delivery they are ambushed by Baroness (Sienna Miller) and her team with super advanced technology. G.I. Joe team arrives in time to intercept the attack and bring the package to General Hawk (Dennis Quaid) at G.I. Joe’s headquarter. However, Baroness is willing to stop at nothing, she plans the second attack to obtain the war-heads by tracking down to the G.I. Joe’s headquarter and finally retrieves the package.

The story-line is pretty weak, the script is not so good. The editing is kinda lame as there are several flashback cut-scenes which are considerably irrelevant. The only reason I want to watch this film is Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Sienna Miller are in it. I don’t know who design the costume and make-up for Sienna Miller, because in this film she reminds me of Posh Spice (Victoria Beckham) and the only scene that I love is the long chase scene in Paris, that’s what I call entertaining.

Lastly, I’ll be waiting for the sequel with better screenplay. I hope G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra would get enough money to make the next one.
