Six weeks after Vanessa’s tragic death, a heartbroken Wade makes multiple suicide attempts but miraculously survives thanks to his healing powers. Colossus brings him to the X-Mansion, hoping it’s what Vanessa would have wanted. Wade and the X-Men are called to an orphanage where Russell is causing trouble.
A confrontation ensues, leading to Wade killing an abusive staff member. Both he and Russell are arrested and sent to the high-security Ice Box prison. Unbeknownst to them, Cable, a time-traveling soldier from the future, arrives with a deadly mission: to kill Russell, who he believes will become a terrifying villain.
DEADPOOL 2 premiered at the Leicester Square in London on 10 May 2018. It was theatrically released in the United States on 18 May.
The film grossed over $785 million worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing film in the X-Men series, and the highest-grossing R-rated film at the time.
