Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
2005 | Tim Burton
Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka. The amazing chocolatier. Willy Wonka, Willy wonka. Everybody give a cheer! He’s modest, clever, and so smart, he can barely restrain it. With so much generosity, there is no way to contain it. To contain, to contain, to contain, to contain.
Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka. He’s the one that you’re about to meet. Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka. He’s a genius who just can’t be beat. The magician and the chocolate wiz. The best darn guy who ever lived. Willy Wonka, here he is!
I’ve never seen the original one, but I can tell you this Tim Burton’s version is extremely wonderful. It’s such a great joy to watch this film. Willy Wonka (Johnny Depp) will take you to a mystery tour of the world’s greatest chocolate factory accompanied with the amazing musical treat by Danny Elfman.
“Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” derives from Roald Dahl’s fantasy first published in 1964, which inspired the 1971 movie, “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.”
I strongly recommend you all to go out and see this movie for yourself. If you are Burton’s fan like myself, this is a must see! Burton has successfully delivered the ultra amazing theme, vivid colors, incredible costumes, and of course, marvelous casts.
Danny Elfman’s score for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory captures the mood of the story, conveying the excitement and wonder as well as the strangeness of Wonka’s factory. Together with the songs by the Oompa Loompas (as heard in the theatre), the score is amusing and entertaining, it makes you want to listen to it again and again!
