Amdang Typhoon

Just opened, Amdang Typhoon just opened on May 1, 2018. This restaurant offers traditional Thai-Chinese dishes, including their signature Hong Kong typhoon shelter chili crab.

Although I didn’t order their signature even the waitress told me it was highly recommended. For me, steamed fresh crab is the best above all, there is no need to put any flavor/chili on it.

I visited this restaurant because they said you don’t have to go all the way to Ayutthaya to enjoy grilled giant river prawn, now you can come here for the same price literally. Let’s see if that’s true!

The weight of river prawn here starting at 340 g at 567 baht, 400 g at 850 baht, 600 g at 1200 baht, and 700 g at 1400 baht. If you want a bigger river prawn, you can give them a call in advance and they will find it for you.

This one weighs 600 grams, and it’s pretty good considering a much shorter trip than going to Ayutthaya. Although I can’t say it’s a good as Tonnam‘s. It doesn’t have that perfect bounce when I chew it.

Fried rice with crackling. This dish may look like an ordinary fried rice, but I can assure that the look can be deceiving. It’s definitely one of the greatest fried rice.

Stir-fried cabbage with fish sauce. This one is a bit let down, it’s a good dish, probably one of the best comparing to other restaurants. But I had a better one, this one isn’t at that level yet.
