the perks of being a wallflower
Stephen Chbosky
(2012)
The film depicts a high school boy named Charlie, he is shy, unpopular and actually has no friend. He also has a problem of his own. (which will be revealed later) Soon, he meets a senior student named Patrick, who introduces Charlie to his step-sister, Sam. They invite Charlie along and show him the world. For the first time, Charlie feels that there are people who notice his existence, and probably would understand him too.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower is the adaptation of a novel with the same title written by Stephen Chbosky, published in 1999 by MTV. At the beginning of the production, they intended to hire the author Stephen Chbosky to write the screenplay for the film, then later they decided to hire Chbosky to direct the film. This is the second feature film which Chbosky directed.
The film is incredibly wonderful on many levels. All three main characters successfully build such a remarkable chemistry and it feels authentic. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is probably one of the most enjoyable films this year. One of best things in the film is its brilliant soundtrack selection. Emma Watson is so pretty. And Ezra Miller once again, gave a stunning performance.
