Salt
2010 | Phillip Noyce
The story depicts a CIA agent, Evelyn Salt who interrogates a Russian defector, Orlov. Orlov mentions that a Russian spy will assassinate Russian President and the name of that Russian spy is Evelyn Salt. Salt is surprised by such accusation and tries to contact her husband, fearing that he might be in danger. Salt is able to escape and finds that her husband has gone missing.
Once in a while I love to watch an action film and think of absolutely nothing but a fun ride in cinematic experience. There ain’t much about the plot, it is like watching Mission Impossible with Jolie replaced Cruise. The action sequences are gripping and exciting. The effects feel real, unlike other action films these days that rely too much on computer generated visual. I do hope for a sequel for this film. Salt could easily become another lead female action flick franchise, when Tomb Raider movies were such failure.
