NINJA ASSASSIN
James McTeigue
(2009)
First of all, I don’t like Rain. Second of all I can’t see why they put Korean actor to portray ninja when it should be Japanese. The only reason I went to see this film because it is directed by James McTeigue who made V for Vendetta, and produced by Wachowski Brothers who created The Matrix.
The film revolves ‘Raizo’, an orphan who has been raised by one of the nine mystical clans to be the world’s deadliest assassin. On his first official mission he decides to rebel against the clan and seek for revenge.
Screw the plot, who needs that for an action film like this? I have to say this is probably one of the best action films in 2009, filled with violence and blood spattering everywhere. The action sequence is bloody insane. Human’s body parts dismembered, impaled, decapitated here and there all over the screen with ninja’s awesome martial arts and their secret weapons of destruction. It can easily surpass Quentin Tarantino’s House of Blue Leaves from Kill Bill. If you are into action genre, This film is recommended.
