At the end of latest volume, Le Labyrinthe Infernal, it announces the title for next volume will be Le Bébé des Buttes-Chaumont. The film’s script is written by Luc Besson based on the first 4 volumes in the series; Adèle et la Bête (1976), Le Démon de la Tour Eiffel (1976), Le Savant Fou (1977) and Momies en Folie (1978).
The story begins in the year 1912, Adèle Blanc-Sec is a novelist/journalist travels to Peru to find a doctor to save her twin sister. Meanwhile in Paris, professor Espérandieu succesfully awakes Pterodactyl from 136 million year old egg within Grande Galerie de l’évolution of Jardin des Plantes. The creature accidentally kills and French authority holds professor Espérandieu responsible for the death of 3 people. Professor Espérandieu is the only hope to save Adèle’s sister, she must help him before they put him on guillotine.
Les aventures extraordinaires d’Adèle Blanc-Sec is fun, entertaining, and very French. Unlike Hollywood blockbuster films, it features almost no climax nor real villains. The film is scheduled to hit Thai cinemas from September 23, 2010 onwards. I have no idea why Thai major cinema brings the English dubbed version to show here, it is quite annoying, and yes it ruins my mood. I hope Apex will show Les aventures extraordinaires d’Adèle Blanc-Sec in original French version. And lastly, thanks to Filmsome!
